Breana’s story is the perfect example of the contrast between God’s perfect will and His permissive will for the things that happen in our lives. Breana’s life was destined for success, but it seems as if there were several detours before she would arrive at her destiny. She was abandoned when she was just a defenseless child. She was rescued and turned over to a system that was to be her savior; however, the plan was less than perfect. She was ridiculed for things that was beyond her control. As she grew older, she lived in a racially charged community. She was judged by the color of her skin instead of her character. She learned about God; she learned how to live by faith. In-spite of all the negative aspect of her life, she continued to trust God to be her deliverer. God permitted those negative things to happen in her life; as in the case of Job, in the old Testament. Job was a wealthy man, and he was faithful to God. Satan wanted to break Job; Satan was sure that Job would curse God. However, he could not touch Job on his own. He had to approach God for permission. God was certain that He would sustain Job and he wouldn’t fail, so he permitted Satan, the enemy to strip Job of everything he owned. What happened to Job in that story was God’s permissive will. Even though it wasn’t good for Job, God allowed it to happen. Just the way He permitted Breana to go through the hardship that was directed at her. Permissive will is not only what others do to us. Not everything that we are permitted to do is good for us, yet we sometimes do the wrong things. Like Breana, we should always live by faith in the WORD. Trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding, and be the best that we can be.
In Breana’s Full Circle, she continued in faith until she experienced God’s perfect will for her life. Her silver lining was behind the cloud that had followed her through out her childhood. She never gave up; even in her darkest hours of despair, she took the time to pray for other’s instead feeling defeated and giving up. In the end she experienced blessings beyond her expectation. The shocking truth of her beginning came to light. The lowly estate of her beginning, as was believed, was just an elusion to keep her until the appointed time to claim what God had in store for her. Sometimes we have to go through the fire in order to become pure gold. We all could learn from Breana. Faith does not protect us from troubles and trials; rather, troubles and trials are a test of faith.
